From a very young age, Bruce knew he wanted to work with wood. In 1991, Bruce was the youngest student to complete the Furniture Design Program at Sheridan College. Upon graduation, Bruce started his own business as a furniture designer and maker. His pieces have been displayed in many galleries, magazines and Fine Woodworking Design Book V.
Several years later, Bruce attended Queens University’s teaching program. He then took a part-time teaching position in construction technology as well as maintaining his own furniture studio. The students responded well to both Bruce’s enthusiasm and knowledge of woodworking.
After a tragic motor vehicle accident, Bruce’s career in education ended. Fortunately, Bruce never lost his passion nor his creative and artistic abilities. After receiving a gorgeous new lathe from a past customer, Bruce decided to pursue his interest in turning, which up until now was just a hobby.
Today, Bruce loves producing artistic and functional wood turnings. His unique laminated wooden handles, set him apart from others in his field. It is with gratitude and extreme pride that Bruce has been able to continue creating in his studio after sustaining both a brain injury and Lymphoma. He hopes you see his passion in each piece he turns.
Each day is a new adventure and each piece and new creative journey.
